1. Introduction

Welcome to Nourish and Justice, LLC (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), a holistic wellness and doula practice based in New York City and Westchester County.

By accessing our website, booking, or engaging in our services, you (“Client,” “you,” or “your”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions of Service (“Agreement”). These Terms govern all offerings including doula care, wellness coaching, and holistic support provided by Nourish and Justice, LLC.


2. Scope of Services

Nourish and Justice, LLC provides compassionate, evidence-informed, and client-centered services including:

  • Full-spectrum doula care (birth, postpartum, abortion, fertility, loss, and reproductive support)
  • Wellness and holistic coaching
  • Education, advocacy, and community-based support
  • Workshops, consultations, and virtual sessions

Our services are non-medical and non-clinical in nature. They are designed to complement, not replace, care provided by licensed medical or mental health professionals.

3. No Medical or Mental Health Treatment

Although the founder, Stariera Becco, holds a Master’s in Social Work (MSW), services through Nourish and Justice, LLC do not constitute therapy, mental health counseling, or medical care.

You understand that:

  • Information and guidance are for wellness and educational purposes only.
  • You should always seek advice from your physician, midwife, or qualified mental health professional regarding medical conditions or mental health concerns.
  • No therapist–client or doctor–patient relationship is formed through participation in our programs or services.

4. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate and relevant information about their health and pregnancy history.
  • Communicate openly and respectfully with their provider.
  • Inform Nourish and Justice, LLC promptly of any medical conditions, changes, or safety concerns.
  • Acknowledge that doulas and wellness providers do not make medical decisions or perform clinical tasks.

5. Booking, Deposits, and Payment Policies

To reserve your place on the Nourish and Justice calendar, the following payment structure applies:

Birth Support Packages

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot on the company calendar.
  • Remaining balance is due before 37 weeks of pregnancy, or as otherwise agreed in writing.

Postpartum Care Packages

  • A 50% deposit is required to reserve services.
  • Full payment must be received before scheduled service dates begin.

Single Services (Wellness Coaching, Consultations, Virtual Sessions, Nutrition Guide Sessions, Postpartum Care etc.)

  • Payment in full is due at the time of booking and signing of intake form agreements.
  • There is a 10 minute grace period. Your payment will be forfeited if you are a “no show”.

Payments may be made via accepted electronic methods or other arrangements approved by Nourish and Justice, LLC. Receipts will be provided upon request.

6. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

  • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment.
  • Failure to cancel within this time frame may result in forfeiture of your payment or deposit.

Single Services

  • No refunds will be issued for single-session services.
  • Clients may reschedule one time without penalty.
  • If a second reschedule is requested, a $5 fee will apply as a courtesy and to compensate for provider inconvenience.

Birth & Postpartum Packages

  • Deposits are non-refundable once services are booked.
  • If your provider is unable to attend due to unforeseen emergencies, every effort will be made to provide a qualified back-up doula.

7. Privacy and Confidentiality

We take your privacy seriously. All personal and health-related information shared with Nourish and Justice, LLC is protected under HIPAA and New York State confidentiality laws.
Your information will not be disclosed without your written consent except as required by law (e.g., court order, imminent risk of harm, or mandatory reporting of abuse/neglect).

8. Communications and Technology

Services may include virtual meetings, phone calls, text messages, and email. You understand that:

  • Electronic communications may have inherent privacy risks.
  • By communicating through these channels, you consent to electronic contact and acknowledge potential confidentiality limitations.

9. Intellectual Property

All written materials, digital content, and workshops provided by Nourish and Justice, LLC are the intellectual property of the Company and its founder.
You may not copy, record, reproduce, or distribute materials without prior written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nourish and Justice, LLC and its representatives are not liable for:

  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to the use or inability to use our services or materials.
  • Your personal choices or medical outcomes before, during, or after engagement with our services.

You participate voluntarily and accept full responsibility for your physical and emotional well-being during your work with Nourish and Justice, LLC.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nourish and Justice, LLC, its owner, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from your participation or breach of this Agreement.

12. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control, including illness, natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, or emergencies.
In such cases, services may be rescheduled or substituted at our discretion.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New York.
Any disputes will be handled in the appropriate courts of New York County, New York, unless otherwise mutually agreed.

14. Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining sections will remain in full force and effect.

15. Grievances

In the rare event of a miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death, we honor your grief and offer a transition to bereavement support. The deposit remains non-refundable. If the loss occurs before the labour/birth phase, you may choose either a credit toward future services or a partial refund (see schedule). We will also provide up to three follow-up sessions as part of your bereavement support plan, and you may opt for additional consultations at our standard rate.

16. Updates to Terms

Nourish and Justice, LLC may update or modify these Terms periodically.
Revised versions will be posted on Nourishandjustice.com with the effective date. Continued use of our website or services signifies acceptance of any changes.
